The South Hammond Station will be one of the key components of the Monon Corridor project. Originally referred to as the West Lake Corridor project, it will be called the Monon Corridor upon opening. The new corridor will serve as a vital link in the expanded commuter rail system in Northwest Indiana.

The South Hammond Station Neighborhood Plan will be used to strengthen neighborhood character and guide future investment as the new West Lake Corridor opens in Fall 2025.
